How Resolution IT has Supported Guernsey Cheshire Home as a Chosen Charity Partner for 2024
Guernsey Cheshire Home has one aim: to provide care and opportunity for people with serious physical disabilities in as close to a family atmosphere as possible.
Equally important though, is the preservation of dignity and individual independence, and providing residents with the absolute right to live a life of their own choosing within a family environment. The Home is a unique facility that for more than thirty years has been providing a high level of care for islanders with serious physical disabilities such as multiple sclerosis, spinal injury, strokes, motor neurone disease, arthritis and the effects of accidents. It provides a home for people who need constant care and are unable to live in their own home.
How We Helped
Guernsey Cheshire Home embarked on a transformative journey this year, aiming to digitise their resident management processes with the introduction of the Fusion online portal. We guided this critical step, helping replace outdated paper systems with a modern, efficient digital solution.
We also facilitated upgrades to their technology infrastructure, working with Microsoft to secure the latest operating system for their devices—covering all costs and managing the process on their behalf.
Additional contributions included:
- Setting up a new email system for streamlined communication.
- Configuring a reliable printing system and connecting devices.
- Donating a new desktop device worth £500 to enhance their operations.
- Ongoing work to implement SharePoint, ensuring seamless file access and secure data storage.
In total, we provided 25 hours of pro-bono IT support, helping the charity modernise and position itself for long-term success.
Mary Ellen Carter, Operations Manager for Guernsey Cheshire Home, said:
“We want to extend our sincere thanks to Resolution IT for choosing us as one of their charities of the year. Their exceptional support has been invaluable in enhancing our IT infrastructure and assisting us with our ongoing transition from pen and paper to a digital approach. This shift will allow us to keep more accurate records, ensure smoother handovers, and free up valuable time to spend with our residents—caring for and interacting with them. Thank you, Resolution IT, for your generosity and expertise in making this possible! This collaboration is not only helping us to streamline our processes but also empowers us to focus more on our mission to provide care and opportunity for people with serious physical disabilities in as close to a family atmosphere as possible.”
