How Resolution IT has Supported PPBF as a Chosen Charity Partner for 2024
This year, our annual Design Challenge—an initiative run in schools across the Channel Islands—took on a deeper purpose through an inspiring partnership with Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF).
Together, we’ve brought creativity, compassion, and innovation to life, supporting an incredible charity that makes a real difference to families in need.
The Vital Work of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation
The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation provides crucial support to families facing the challenges of premature birth or serious illness in young children. Among their many services, the charity offers “Home from Home” apartments near Southampton Hospital, ensuring Channel Island families have a place to stay while their children receive critical specialist care. These apartments provide not only practical assistance but also a sense of comfort and security during what is often an incredibly stressful time.
Making the Design Challenge More Impactful
Our annual Design Challenge aims to inspire creativity and innovation in the next generation while giving back to our community. This year, the partnership with PPBF allowed us to elevate the project’s impact.
As well as raising awareness of the charity’s important work through our competition promotion, with thanks to the support of our competition sponsor, PlainSail, we donated a Smart TV and an Xbox Series S console to PPBF. These items are now available in one of their Southampton apartments, providing a touch of home and some much-needed entertainment for families staying far from their loved ones while their children receive care.
Bringing Imagination to Life
We also commissioned the recreation of the winning Design Challenge entry: a whimsical flying pirate ship designed for safe and magical journeys for families traveling from the Channel Islands to Southampton Hospital. We had this design recreated in LEGO and displayed in “Matthew’s Hideaway,” a room named in honour of Matthew, a young boy who lost his battle to cancer. Matthew loved LEGO, so this artwork and the message behind it seemed a fitting addition to the room. You can learn more about this project here.
We also got involved in the PPBF’s ‘Raffle a Day Off’ fundraiser, a great initiative in which members of the team could buy raffle tickets to be in with a chance of winning an extra day of holiday, raising £230.
Jo Priaulx, PPBF co-founder said:
“From the moment we applied to be one of their chosen charities for 2024, the support, enthusiasm, and generosity from the team at Resolution IT was evident. They have been incredibly open to our ideas, allowing us to integrate our work into their various projects in creative and engaging ways, all while remaining caring and patient. This collaboration has not only helped with fundraising but has also raised awareness, which is a key part of keeping our charity active in the community. The additions to Frankie’s Den – one of our flats in Southampton – will benefit families for years to come, and helping to keep Matthew’s memory alive is something that means a great deal to his loved ones. On behalf of everyone at the PPBF, thank you.”
