IoD Leadership Shadowing

For the past few days Charlie Cohen has been shadowing our CEO, Olly Duquemin, as part of the IoD Leadership Shadowing Scheme, which is sponsored by KPMG.

The scheme provides a unique opportunity for local sixth-form students to learn about leadership through unrestricted access to some of Guernsey’s most influential leaders.
Charlie, a Grammar Sixth Form student, is currently studying Computer Science, Chemistry and Maths for his A Levels and is very keen to embark on a career in the tech industry.

“I definitely want to go into the tech industry when I leave school and these past few days at Resolution IT have solidified that for me” said Charlie, who’s been shadowing Olly as he’s attended various meetings on-site, off-site and over Teams with clients and individuals based overseas. “I’ve really enjoyed the experience and it’s great to have somebody come into the business with a fresh perspective, ask me interesting questions and for me to have the opportunity to talk through the various aspects of the business.”

Charlie has been able to see the multiple areas of the business that make up Resolution IT, from sitting with the helpdesk to also meeting with the consultancy and advisory teams within the business “I came in thinking it was going to be a lot more technical, but it’s great to see how you work in an advisory capacity for your clients’ businesses too.”
