Life in Service Delivery at Resolution IT
Senior Technician, Lewis Boschat, explains what it’s like working in Service Delivery at Resolution IT
Firstly, who are you and how long have you been at Resolution IT?
Hey, I’m Lewis a Senior Technician at Resolution IT. I joined the team in March 2023, making me one of the first employees at our Jersey branch. I’ve been with the company for a year and a half now.
What does your role consist of?
My role is a bit of everything! It involves working in the Jersey office, resolving issues for our client base, and visiting different client sites throughout the day to tackle unique challenges. I also work on projects such as onboarding new clients and standardizing their environments to align with modern working. But the goal of my role is to ensure that our clients’ IT issues are resolved as quickly as possible and that they are happy. When I encounter unique problems, I document the solutions for the wider team and help to upskill more junior staff members.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I love the diversity of my role. The opportunity to move from one task to another keeps things exciting and fresh. Having worked exclusively for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) throughout my career, I particularly enjoy the dynamic nature of working at Resolution IT. It allows me to explore different product stacks and understand their use cases and implementations, which means I’m always learning and never feel stagnant.
What’s your favourite part about working at Resolution IT?
One of the most exciting aspects of working at Resolution IT is working with cutting-edge technologies. As an MSP, we have access to some of the best toolsets available. These tools can be used for a wide range of purposes, and the ability to leverage them, especially for automation is great. Automating processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy is always a win, and having the chance to work with these tools on a day to day keeps things interesting.
What advice would you offer to anyone looking to begin a career in IT?
The IT field offers a wide range of career paths, which can make it challenging to decide where to start. My advice is to explore various roles to see what interests you. Look for opportunities that allow you to try a bit of everything which will help you decide.
