Resolution News

As December approaches its end and 2021 draws to a close, we’ve been looking back at our year. Beginning the year with 48 employees and ending with 56, it’s clear to see that it’s been another year of growth for Resolution IT.

As well as welcoming new teammates this year, we also embarked on a new partnership with Evolution Group. This partnership creates an all-inclusive offering for transformational change and technical IT expertise for local businesses.

Another partnership was formed when we joined forces with Black Vanilla to implement a Crisis Comms Respond & Recover package, to offer a unique service to help organisations minimise the reputational damage of a cyber security incident.

Throughout the year, we’ve been continuing our sustainability journey as a business, brainstorming new ideas to help reduce our environmental impact. To reduce the amount of emissions we produced whilst commuting to and from work, we moved into a second office, based in St Peter Port. This is to act as a base for team members working with clients in town, or who live far away from our Forest office. We also bought two new electric Fiat 500s which are used as pool cars for colleagues needed on client sites. Another initiative was Alternative Transport Month in August, where we challenged staff to travel to work via a more sustainable method. We racked up a total of 830 miles commuted using alternative methods of transport, preventing an estimated 180 kg of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

We got involved in some great community projects this year. We volunteered for Sour Fig clearing with Guernsey Conservation Volunteers, clearing a total of 8 skips and 35 tonnes of the invasive species, making way for our native flora and fauna to thrive. We also lent a helping hand to Citizen’s Advice Guernsey during lockdown by creating a temporary tech fix which allowed them to continue their voluntary services, as well as creating a permanent IT system for them later in the year. And last but not least, we sponsored the restoration of the Japanese Pavilion at Saumarez Park, which was unveiled in September.

Continuing with the theme of sponsorship, we were delighted to sponsor the Innovation Award at the Community Awards, and we’re looking forward to attending the postponed ceremony in the New Year. We also continued our sponsorship of two netball teams, the Resolution IT White and Resolution IT Green, who had another fantastic year. Another sponsorship was for the Digital and Technology Cup at the Guernsey Marathon, which we were excited to win with our Resolution Relay team! We’re eagerly preparing for the 2022 Marathon, which will be hosted this coming March. Fingers crossed we take home the Technology Cup once more!

On the topic of awards, we were thrilled to be awarded Member Contribution of the Year at the prestigious Network Group Awards, that Olly and Steve were lucky enough to attend in Brighton. We were also named as one of the world’s leading IT MSPs in the 2021 Channel Futures MSP 501 rankings. And our very own Olly Duquemin, CEO, was awarded Director of the Year at the IoD Awards!

Our company values have had a refresh this year, with our new line-up being: Respect, PassionExcellenceIntegrity and Commitment. We felt it was important to reassess and redefine our company values to ensure they best represent the Resolution IT team as a whole, especially with the significant growth we’ve seen over the past few years. We spoke to our Senior Leadership Team about what our new values mean to them, you can read their thoughts here.

Client News

As for client updates and improvements, as ever, we’ve been working hard to come up with solutions to improve the client experience at Resolution IT. We introduced a self-service password reset portal, a physical, bi-monthly client newsletter, welcomed a new account executive and hosted our first Modern Bytes lunchtime learning sessions. We’re entering the New Year with some really exciting projects and events up our sleeve, including the celebration of our 15-year anniversary! So make sure you keep up to date with our social media, linked below, for all you need to know.

December News

Moving onto December news, congratulations to Jon Warr and Matt Bichard for celebrating company anniversaries this month, reaching 2 years and 1 year respectively.

In many ways, this year has been challenging for all of us. With that in mind, we have formed a Health and Well-being Committee for our team, who have organised a series of projects and initiatives for 2022, from training two more office Mental Health First Aiders, to a January Step Up challenge, encouraging colleagues to brave the cold and get as many steps in as possible. We have a way to go with our mental health support journey and there are always ways to improve, but we hope to look back on 2022 knowing we’ve done our best to support our team in all areas.

As unfortunate as it is to have to postpone our team Christmas celebrations, we know we’re not alone. We’re looking forward to celebrating a belated Christmas party in March, but until then, we wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and a fantastic New Year. Thank you to our dedicated team and valued clients for another successful year, here’s to 2022!
