Resolution Recap: April 2022
April definitely disappeared in a bit of a blur, take a look at what we got up to at Resolution IT below.
Community
We’re delighted to have adopted a field at Le Bigard from The National Trust. This project involves clearing the bracken and making way for grass and flowers to grow, creating a picnic spot, nurturing the young trees and maintaining the spot for years to come.
A short walk from our office, this lovely spot has a sea view and falls just off the path from Le Bigard to Le Corbierre. We’re excited to watch the progress of this spot, it has some real potential to become a lovely space for all to enjoy.
Our first volunteering session happened at the end of the month, where a group of Resolution IT volunteers (staff and friends) headed to the site to clear away the bracken.
Team News
Colleague of the month
Our April COTM is Nick Robilliard! Nick was nominated for hosting a weekly fitness class for the team in our office gym, getting us all active and teaching us how to improve our core strength. These classes have been so much fun (and incredibly challenging!) Thank you Nick!
New Joiners
Welcome to our new joiners; Matt Bougourd – Managed Print Engineer, Todd Priaulx – Senior Technician, and Dan Ridley – Technician. We’re pleased to have you onboard!
Work anniversaries
April was a big month for work anniversaries! Congratulations to Alastair Huntley – 6 years, Robin Guilbert – 2 years, James Le Gallez – 2 years, Aimee Doel – 1 year and Jo Brehaut – 1 year.
Achievements
Congratulations to Nick Girauld for achieving his MTA: Networking Fundamentals certification from Microsoft!
Socials
Our social this month was dinner and skittles at the Hampshire lodge. We split into teams, got a bit competitive, had a few drinks and blew off some steam! This was great fun and was also a great opportunity for new members of our team to get to know each other outside of the office walls.
Sport
We took part in the Guernsey Marathon relay in April which was great fun. Our team did a fantastic job but unfortunately couldn’t quite keep ownership of the Resolution IT Digital & Technology cup, which was won by the Guernsey Electricity Engineers team. Well done to everyone who took part and contributed to raising money for some great local charities.
Our fitness guru Nick Robilliard has been continuing his gym sessions, keeping us all working hard during our lunch hours with some bespoke core training sessions. Thank you Nick!
We also had Megan from All About Yoga come in to host a lunchtime yoga session for the team. This was such a great way to spend our lunch break and we all returned to work feeling grounded and relaxed.
15th Anniversary updates
Our April resolution for our 15 resolutions for 15 years has been the Design a Gadget Competition, which opened for entries at the end of March and closes in May. We have had some really amazing entries so far, with some truly innovative and game changing gadgets that we’d love to own! Some favourites so far have been the sister boot and the homework ghost!
Our next resolution is our May Alternative Transport month, where staff are challenged to come to work in the greenest way possible, whether that’s cycling, walking, running or catching the bus. Our aim is to hit 850 miles travelled sustainably. Go team!
