Resolution Recap: February

We’ve had a brilliant February at Resolution IT, busy as ever. Check out what we’ve been up to below.

15th Anniversary Updates

We kicked off one of our 15 Resolutions for 15 years in February, a ‘Design a Gadget’ Competition, which you can read more about below. This is our second resolution of the year, with our January step count challenge being the first, which you can learn more about here. Our next initiative will be announced next week during Career’s Week. It’s been a big team effort to get it over the line and we’re delighted with the outcome. Check our social media next week to find out what it is!

We will be announcing new resolutions throughout the year, including team challenges, community and conservation projects, events, competitions and charity work. Each resolution is built around our company values and plays a part in our celebration of 15 years of Resolution IT.

Modern Bytes

Our second topic in our Modern Bytes lunchtime learning series kicked off this month, with our Information Security Consultant, Nick Robilliard, leading sessions on ‘Cyber Incident Preparation & Response.’ Nick was joined by Nichole Culverwell, Director of Black Vanilla, who spoke about crisis comms in relation to cyber breaches and continuity plans. Our final session in this series takes place this Thursday 3 March. Contact your account manager if you’d like a spot.

Design a Gadget Competition

We launched an exciting competition in February, which is open to children in key stage 2. One of our 15 resolutions for 15 years, we are encouraging children in years 3-6 to design us an awesome gadget and explain what it does and why they invented it. Whether it’s a robot designed to make you laugh when you’re feeling blue or a cowboy boot that uses kinetic energy to make you jump really high, whatever gets their imagination going! There are brilliant tech prizes for the winners, as well as a donation to the school with the highest percentage of entries. With 6 Guernsey primary schools already signed up, we’re so excited to get this competition up and running and can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with. The competition opens for entries at the end of March.

Socials

We kicked off our social calendar this month with an airsoft game at the Mirus Battery. This was great fun and a perfect opportunity to let off some steam and settle workplace rivalries on the playing field! We also had a brilliant team night out to bring everyone together after a gloomy few weeks of weather and working hard to get the new year underway. We shared pizza and beers in our office kitchen before moving into the games room for a few games of pool, darts and table football. The courageous among us then headed out to town for a cocktail or two. It’s always a great time when we bring the team together for a bit of fun, we try and host socials at least once per month. Our next event will be our very belated ‘Christmas Party’ in March, which we’re all super excited for!

Workiversaries

This month, we’ve celebrated the anniversaries of Oscar Richardson – 4 years, Dan Brown – 3 years, and Ollie Le Prevost – 2 years. Congratulations to you all for reaching these milestones!

Colleague Of The Month

Our Colleague Of The Month is Tove Barnes, our Marketing Executive. Tove has demonstrated our company values of Commitment and Passion, doing an awesome job of coordinating our new office photography and headshots, as well as working hard on two big upcoming projects that we’ll be excited to unveil next month!
