Resolution Recap: July
The hot weather in July brought some great times with it. From spending our Friday meetings on the outside decking, to heading for the beach for a post-work swim, moods were certainly higher this month.
Our month began with a visit from the Accidental Zoo. Charlotte came into the office to speak about the work TAZ does for the community and even brought Rowan the snake along for a meet and greet!
We then teamed up with the Guernsey Conservation Volunteers one sunny Saturday at Fort Le Marchant, clearing the last of the sour fig from a spot they’d been working away on for weeks. The area looks amazing – what a difference!
A highlight for the month was the launch of our shiny new website! This project has been in the works for a while now and it’s exciting to see it up and running. The new site is a great representation of our refreshed brand, with everything you need to know about our services, our team, our community and who we are.
We also went live with a case study which explored our digital transformation work for St John, who have a digital transformation retainer with us to enable the continuous improvement of their technology. You can read about our partnership here.
We had a few new faces in the office this month.
Starting with Fintan, a student from Elizabeth College, joined us for a few days of mentoring from our CEO, Olly Duquemin, as part of the IOD Leadership Shadowing scheme. We hope Fintan found his time valuable and gained some insight about what it means to be a company leader.
We then had Rupert Walmsley, our Dubai Managing Director, visiting the island for the first time and spending a few days with the Guernsey team. It was great to have him with us in person and we hope he enjoyed his time on our island.
Becca Johns-Ogier joined the team as a Business Support Officer and Jack Thompson and Calum Clark joined us as Technicians in the Managed Services team. Welcome all of you!
Last but not least, Ewan Sarchet spent the month with us as our summer intern. Whilst with us, Ewan reviewed and tested 5 third-party products, reporting on the best fit for us as a company. He did a great job and has really helped to speed up the implementation process of this third party solution. Best of luck in the rest of your studies, Ewan! We’ve really enjoyed having you as part of the team.
Our team social for July was a sunny swim at L’Eree, with fish and chips as a post-swim treat.
Our employee of the month for July is Dan Ridley, for being an absolute champion on the service desk. Dan sets a great example, answers calls relentlessly, is always available for others when he can be, and gets an outstanding level of positive client feedback. Dan has displayed our company values of commitment and excellence. Congrats Dan!
An exciting team achievement is Todd Priaulx’s participation in the Commonwealth Games for bowls! Congratulations Todd!
And that just about wraps up July! Follow us on social media to keep up with everything as it happens.
