Our Bursary student, Jake Marshall, having completed his first year at university, is back with us for work experience. He’s been busy putting into practice the theoretical technology skills he has learnt, with the powerful business analytics tools of Microsoft Power BI, creating our very own Resolution IT Russia 2018 World Cup hub.
By gathering and linking to a number of websites with live data, he’s managed to take that raw data and turn it into a number of informative and attractive visuals which are updated on a daily basis.
The Resolution IT hub now displays all the current information on who plays who, various stats such as top goal scorers, as well as a particular focus on the England squad.
It’s always a challenge to take dry stats and turn them into something visually engaging but Power BI can achieve this, not just for the 2018 World Cup but for any business looking to bring their figures to life and analyse them on a real-time basis.
In this particular case the stats are showing the top goal scorer is England’s Captain, Harry Kane, which makes them even more attractive to look at!
