Store Makers Middle East (SMME) is one of the largest and most renowned companies for retail interiors in the Middle East. Specialising in the GCC, fitout, project management and consultancy for luxury stores, you’ll see their work in Cartier, Chanel, and Airport DXB.
Resolution IT has been SMME’s IT partner since the beginning of 2023, and we recently caught up with Patrick Fallmann, the firm’s Middle East General Manager, about our partnership.
What is the relationship between SMME and Resolution IT?
Initially, Resolution IT were supporting Store Makers Middle East with a co-managed IT model, providing on-the-ground support for our Dubai branch.
Later, SMME split out from our parent company, requiring a huge IT transition project that included migrating to the cloud, restructuring and optimising all of our existing equipment and re-provisioning it all onto Azure, including a brand-new Microsoft 365 enhanced security tenant.
The Resolution IT team took care to ensure the cloud migration was as seamless as possible, so our day-to-day business function saw no disruption and there was no added pressure for the team.
We are now supported by Resolution IT’s fixed-price Platinum PLUS managed IT service which offers total peace of mind that our day-to-day IT needs are taken care of.
How is Resolution IT moving SMME forwards?
Migrating to the cloud has been a huge development for SMME and has definitely moved us forwards as a business. Azure is secure, innovative and user-friendly, and our team have taken to it well.
Having Rupert as our vCIO (virtual Chief Information Officer) is also having a positive impact on the business. The consultancy and guidance provided to our stakeholders and department heads has been instrumental in progressing our understanding of our technology over the last 18 months, as well as supporting us through the large amount of change we’ve been through as a business.
Additionally, our regular Customer Success meetings where we discuss future planning, customer satisfaction and IT strategy, are really helping to align our goals as a business and move our technology forwards.
Where are you looking to take your technology next?
Rupert has already begun a project to give us a more streamlined IT policy when it comes to our recruitment method that will save time and increase the efficiency of the entire process.
Our team are also taking part in Microsoft 365 training to drive productivity, teach best practices and ensure we are getting the most out of our technology. Tonia Meakin, Resolution IT’s Digital Productivity Trainer, has been delivering this training remotely from Resolution IT’s Guernsey office, and it’s been greatly received by the team.
