Group CEO, Olly Duquemin, reflects on 2023 at Resolution IT.

As we approach the end of 2023, it feels apt to reflect on what we achieved together as one of the biggest years in Resolution IT’s journey so far. From launching new offices to nurturing global partnerships, expanding our talented team, and engaging in impactful CSR initiatives, we’ve certainly been busy.

Jersey

Starting at the beginning of the year, we launched our Jersey office in January. This launch was a strategic move for us, allowing us to better serve our clients with offices on both islands and expand our client base.

Our Jersey Managing Director, Dane Bryans, has grown a great team over the year and is making great progress partnering with new clients and developing bespoke services to suit this new market. An example of this is our Enterprise Professional Services function.

The launch of our Jersey office marks a strategic milestone in Resolution IT’s journey, and it is crucial to emphasise that our commitment to Guernsey and our long-standing clients here, who have been an integral part of our success for many years, remains steadfast.

Global Presence

Early in 2023, we brought our Dubai office fully under the Resolution IT umbrella, marking a significant step towards our vision of a seamless, global company. We now proudly serve clients across 18 finance centers worldwide, underscoring our commitment to providing top-tier IT solutions on a global scale.

To showcase our global footprint, we launched a brand-new website designed to serve all our jurisdictions. This digital platform reflects the unified strength and expertise of Resolution IT, offering valuable resources and insights to our clients.

Growing and Developing Our Team

Our headcount now stands at 77 people, with 20 joining us in 2023. We’ve welcomed new joiners across all our teams, from Business Support, to Sales, to Service Delivery, in Guernsey, Jersey, Dubai, and the UK. Growing our team in multiple jurisdictions enables us to support our growing client base around wider timeframes.

Our team have challenged themselves with new certifications and training, with a total of 25 exam passes this year alone. Learning and development is an important core pillar of Resolution IT and means we can continuously improve the service we’re able to deliver to our clients, with specialised support and technology expertise.

Nurturing Client Partnerships

The Resolution IT team has been working harder than ever to support our clients, and the glowing case studies and testimonials we’ve received this year are a testament to our team’s dedication. This year’s case studies include Core Fund Services, Dorey Financial Modelling, Tenn Capital, and Albany Trustee. Thank you to each of our clients who agreed to take part in case study exercises with us – these projects bring us a lot of pride and we’re always delighted to hear positive feedback about our team and services.

We’ve onboarded some brilliant new clients in each of our jurisdictions and further afield, who we’re supporting with Information and Cyber Security, Transformation projects and IT Support.

Giving Back

From a CSR perspective, it’s been a busy year for us as ever. We held our annual field clearing day at our National Trust site at Le Bigard and we sponsored, created and won at auction a puffin for the Guernsey puffin parade – the proceeds of which went to GSPCA and Autism Guernsey. We took part in the Havelet Regatta, sponsored the West Show’s skydiving display, delivered pro bono training to Guernsey Chest and Heart and fundraised a total of £2,607 for our chosen charities; Bright Tights, GSPCA, Guernsey Mind, The Clean Earth Trust. In Jersey, we’ve sponsored the women’s Jersey Bulls Football team and we look forward to watching them play in 2024.

We hosted the Resolution IT design challenge for the second year, this time in both Guernsey and Jersey. The brief this year was for students in years 3-6 to design a robot that would contribute to community, health & well-being, or environment. We received more than 300 fantastic entries from across the Channel Islands. We awarded prizes to winners and runners up, as well as a £500 donation to the winning schools in Guernsey and Jersey.

We’ve also had a busy social calendar this year with our summer barbeque, our Christmas party and office casino night to name a few.
